"Since through God's mercy we have this ministry—a ministry of reconciliation—we are Christ's ambassadors."

The call of God on the life of the believer is clear: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as you love yourself." We have the privilege of being the hands and feet of Jesus to one another.

Community Life at Bedford focuses on three main goals:
* To connect with God more deeply
* To live our lives out of an authentic core
* To connect with one another more deeply

Taking into account that people are different from one another and have different needs and different time availability, we will offer a variety of ways for people to connect.

There are five primary ways that we are developing, so watch for details in all of these areas!

Saturday Seminars
These will focus on an area of interest for the whole church body. We will have "experts" to guide, challenge, and encourage us in some area.

Retreats
There will be two to three retreats per year. Some of these will be large such as men's or women's retreats—others will be more limited—such as marriage, prayer, or spiritual renewal, etc.

Small Groups
We will increasingly develop a small group ministry at Bedford. These groups will by no means look alike! Groups may focus on common interests or activities, may be geographical, or support groups. Please write or call Lois Shellrude and let me know your needs or willingness to lead a small group.

Mentoring
There is much needed place for some of you to step forward and share your spiritual life, wisdom, and life experience with others. This will take the form of an informal relationship with another. Our culture encourages individualism and alienation. The essence of the gospel is to "get in there and get your hands dirty" in service and love and support of one another. Please let Lois Shellrude know of your interest.

Outreach
All of the above areas can be used for outreach—inviting friends to seminars or retreats—however we will also have specific events to which we encourage you to bring friends. Watch for details!

Please contact Lois Shellrude for information or if you are interested in being a part of any of these areas! We also need volunteers for organizational work for retreats, seminars, etc.
